Our DC Apartment

After a long trip, Stephen arrived at the British Ambassadors' Residence with truck mountain top. He was welcome by the lovely staff with a plant as a welcome token (now sitting in the living room in the corner)

The apt was all furnished with fine furniture, the bed was made, and the towels were hanging in the bathroom.

God is so good to us! He is loving and Caring in every details of our lives!

Having Fun with Friends

Hanging out with Simpsons and Masseys is always full of laughter and giggles and lots of good food!

Stephen prepared a Moroccan dinner-the menu he learned through a cooking class at Charleston Cooks that Philip and Sarah gave as a birthday gift last year.

I enjoyed using my grandma's china that had traveled in 1960s from Germany to St. Petersburg to Tbilisi to Charleston...WOW>>>>>

Why are these boys goofing off...Too much of what????

Sunday School Party at 106 King Street

Day after Halloween, we hosted a Sunday School party at our house. Simpsons (Mike and Temple) and Sprungers (Stephen and Anna) stayed up till 2AM making all the sweets... yum, yum! It was a night of Halloween and we were very sad that no trick or treaters came to our place-we had so much candy around the house to give out. Anyways, we made several deserts
1. Chocolate Hazelnut cake with candied hazelnuts
2. Pumpkin Trifle by Paula Dean (we changed the recipe a lot)
3. Orange Balls
4. Chocolate Truffles
5. Almond biscotti

As for drinks, we prepared hot chocolate bar and decaff coffee!

We decided that next day at our Sunday School we would put funny names on our name tags. Stephen was Candy Corn, Anna was Pumpkin, Ben was Kit Kat, and Emily was Trick or Treat! We were intending to make people laugh but not many noticed...Anyways!

Here are some pictures of sweets, Simpsons and Masseys!

South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants Conference, Kiawah Island, SC

Besides learning all I could about hypertension, diabetes, STDs, etc, I had a chance to enjoy a little bit of Kiawah Island...

Stephen and I were wishing we were staying at the 5star resort....

Taking a nice stroll on the beach was quite relaxing after the whole day sitting in the lectures

well, now I am at home, and poor Stephen-he has to put up with me telling him about belly fat, hypertension, metabolic syndrome... He has to eat right now, or else....

Tbilisi Photos

Tbilisi is known for its churches and fotresses. This fortress sits at the top of the mountain overlooking the city. The openings that you see were used in old times to pour out hot oil on the enemies who were tring to take over the city.
