Sunday School Party at 106 King Street

Day after Halloween, we hosted a Sunday School party at our house. Simpsons (Mike and Temple) and Sprungers (Stephen and Anna) stayed up till 2AM making all the sweets... yum, yum! It was a night of Halloween and we were very sad that no trick or treaters came to our place-we had so much candy around the house to give out. Anyways, we made several deserts
1. Chocolate Hazelnut cake with candied hazelnuts
2. Pumpkin Trifle by Paula Dean (we changed the recipe a lot)
3. Orange Balls
4. Chocolate Truffles
5. Almond biscotti

As for drinks, we prepared hot chocolate bar and decaff coffee!

We decided that next day at our Sunday School we would put funny names on our name tags. Stephen was Candy Corn, Anna was Pumpkin, Ben was Kit Kat, and Emily was Trick or Treat! We were intending to make people laugh but not many noticed...Anyways!

Here are some pictures of sweets, Simpsons and Masseys!

South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants Conference, Kiawah Island, SC

Besides learning all I could about hypertension, diabetes, STDs, etc, I had a chance to enjoy a little bit of Kiawah Island...

Stephen and I were wishing we were staying at the 5star resort....

Taking a nice stroll on the beach was quite relaxing after the whole day sitting in the lectures

well, now I am at home, and poor Stephen-he has to put up with me telling him about belly fat, hypertension, metabolic syndrome... He has to eat right now, or else....

Tbilisi Photos

Tbilisi is known for its churches and fotresses. This fortress sits at the top of the mountain overlooking the city. The openings that you see were used in old times to pour out hot oil on the enemies who were tring to take over the city.

Restaurant "Khvervshi"

We only went out to one restaurant while we were in Tbilisi. Mom wanted to go to this particular restaurant since they had Georgian folk group singing each night.

Our menu was very originally displayed

Visiting Sameba (Trinity)

Levan, Anna's distant cousin, took us on the tour of the city. We got to visit the largest Orthodox church in the world which is located in Tbilisi. The donkey pictures below was grazing in the church garden-the animal reminded me of Jesus triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

We even got to observe Georgian wedding and the baby baptism. Just in time for Stephen to taste the Georgian culture.

City and Dogs

City was full of dog
They even knew how to cross busy streets

It was ok of a dog to be near the plane at the airport grounds

Buba (our neighbors dog) would wait at the bottom of the apartment system until somebody would get into the elevator with him. He was so old that he could not walk up the steps to the 4th floor. So, here is a shot of Buba with us in the rundown elevator
